Soybean prices firmed up by Rs 63 to Rs 3,276 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators indulged in accumulating positions, triggered by upbeat overseas sentiment.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, soybean for delivery in current month contracts was trading higher by Rs 63 or 1.96 per cent to Rs 3,276 per quintal, with an open interest of 14,750 lots.

In a similar manner, soybean to be delivered in February spurted by Rs 44 or 1.36 per cent to Rs 3,282 per quintal, in an open interest of 2,89590 lots.

Marketmen said a firm trend in global market on robust demand and tight supplies mainly bolstered trading sentiment here, lifting soybean futures up.
