Speeding vehicles crush two on Tata-Hata Road

Irate local residents put up a road blockade on Tata-Hata road after two persons including a woman were crushed under the wheels of an vehicle near Kaliabeda under Sundernagar police station today evening, the police said.

The victims were returning home in a two-wheeler when a speeding four-wheeler rammed them from behind, the police said.

Both victims were fatally injured on the spot, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, B N Singh.

Local residents squatted on the road following the accident demanding adequate compensation to the victims' family, he said adding, senior officers were trying to reason with the agitators in lifting the blockade.
