Subros zooms nearly 9% after co reopens fire-hit Manesar plant

Shares of auto component maker Subros today surged nearly 9 per cent after the company reopened its Manesar plant after a major fire incident in May last year.

The scrip soared 8.98 per cent to end at Rs 212.95 on BSE. During the day, it jumped 12 per cent to Rs 218.90 -- its 52-week high.

At NSE, shares of the company zoomed 8.70 per cent to settle at Rs 212.85.

The company's market valuation rose by Rs 105.46 crore to Rs 1,277.46 crore on BSE.

"Subros Ltd today re-opened its Manesar plant after the fire incident which took place on May 29, 2016 severely impacting the building, plant and machinery, stocks and other assets," the company said in a BSE filing.
 

After the fire, one of the company's largest customers Maruti Suzuki India had announced that it was suspending production following disruption of supplies.

Subros provides airconditioning compressors to Maruti Suzuki.
