Sugar prices fall on supply pressure

Sugar prices declined up to Rs 15 per quintal in the national capital today on persistent supplies from mills against restricted buying support.

Marketmen said besides plenty of ready stocks on increased supplies from mills, subdued demand from bulk consumers mainly led to the fall in the sweetener prices for the second straight day.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices enquired lower by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,220-3,430 and Rs 3,200-3,410 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also asked lower by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,100-3,275 and Rs 3,085-3,265 per quintal.

In mill gate section, sugar kinnoni lost Rs 15 to Rs 3,275 per quintal, while Modinagar, Baghpat, Morana and Sakoti eased by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,130, Rs 3,160, Rs 3,150 and Rs 3,120 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,220-3,430, S-30 Rs 3,200-3,410.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,100-3,275; S-30 Rs 3,085-3265.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,170, Kinnoni 3,275, Asmoli 3,220, Dorala 3,180, Budhana 3,145, Thanabhavan 3,135, Dhanora 3,125, Simbholi 3,260, Modi Nagar Rs 3,130, Khatuli 3,255, Dhampur 3,105, Ramala 3,150, Bulandshar 3,115, Anupshar 3,130, Baghpat 3,160, Morna 3,150, Sakoti 3,120, Chandpur 3,100 and Nazibabad 3,140.
