Sugar prices fall on weak demand, increase supply

Sugar prices softened by Rs 25 per quintal in the national capital today following increased supply amid slackness in demand.

Marketmen said fall in demand against increased supply from mills at prevailing higher levels mainly pulled down sweetner prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices declined by Rs 25 to Rs 3,325-3,525 and Rs 3,315-3,515 per quintal. Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 slipped by Rs 20 to Rs 3,200-3,330 and Rs 3,190-3,320 per quintal.

In millgate section, prices of Budhana and Modi Nagar moved down by Rs 20 each at Rs 3,240 and Rs 3,225 per quintal.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:
 

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,325-3,525, S-30 Rs 3,315-3,515.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,200-3,330; S-30 Rs 3,190-3,320.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 3,225, Kinnoni 3,330, Asmoli 3,280, Dorala 3,230, Budhana 3,240, Thanabhavan 3,230, Dhanora 3,230, Simbholi 3,190, Modi Nagar Rs 3,225, Khatuli 3,300, Dhampur 3,230, Ramala 3,200, Bulandshar 3,230, Anupshar 3,170, Baghpat 3,200, Morna 3,200, Sakoti 3,210, Chandpur 3,220, Amroha N.T. And Nazibabad 3,180.
