Tehsildar seeks police protection

In a recent letter to the collector, the tehsildar of Dharmasala Arun Kumar Behera has said that some revenue inspectors, supervisors and other field staff have expressed their helplessness in monitoring illegal mining in their respective areas fearing threats from local mining mafia allegedly supporters of ruling party and sought police protection.

Jajpur collector Anil Kumar Samal said "I have received a letter from Dharmasala tehasildar. I am contemplating providing police assistance to him to check illegal mining activities in his tehsil jurisdiction."
