Temperature remains below normal in Himachal

Mercury stayed marginally below normal in Himachal Pradesh asstrong winds accompanied by rains lashed parts of mid and higher hills.

According to the local MeT office, Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district received 2 mm of rains while Shimla, Narkanda and some other areas had light showers.

The Day temperatures stayed below normal and Una in Shivalik foothills washottest in the region with a high of 39.6 degrees Celsius.

Kangra and Sundernagar recorded maximum temperatures at 35.3 degrees Celsius and 33.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Nahan 33.1 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 30.8, Solan and Bhuntar 30 degrees Celsius, Shimla 24.7, Manali 23 degrees Celsius and Kalpa 18.6 degrees Celsius.
 

The minimum temperatures also dropped by one to two notches and Keylong was coldest in the region with minimum temperature at 0.3 degrees Celsius, while Manali and Kalpa recorded a low of 5.6 degrees Celsius and 5.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 10, Sundernagar 13, Solan 14.7, Dharamsala and Shimla 15. 2, Palampur 15, Una 16.6degrees Celsius and Nahan 22. 5 degrees Celsius.

The MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region on April 30 and May 1 and rains, thunderstorm or snow at isolated over next four days.
