Upper Primary School at Odanga under Rasulpur block in Jajpur district was suspended on charges of dereliction of duty, officials said today.

The action has been taken after charges of negligence in duties against the headmaster, Balaram Behera, of the school were found to be true, said Jajpur District Education Officer (DEO) Krushna Chandra Nayak.

Officials said the headmaster has not observed Swachhata Pakhwada (cleanliness fortnight) and other programmees in the school despite government's directive.

Besides, the headmaster was not in proper uniform in the school during the visit of the district education authorities, officials said.

"Negligence in duty will not be tolerated at any cost," said the DEO.
