Three infant deaths reported in Malda Medical College&Hospital

Death of three more infants has been reported from state-run Malda Medical College and Hospital here since yesterday, an official said.

Medical Superintendent cum Vice Principal, Amit Dawn, told reporters here that while an underweight infant weighing 960 gm died at the hospital yesterday, two infants were declared "brought dead" when they were brought to the facility.

With this, ten infants have died at the hospital in the last 72 hours.

A five-member inquiry committee set up to find the cause and suggest preventive measures has been asked to submit its report by Tuesday next, the Superintendent said.
