A 34-year-old woman police constable was caught on camera shoplifting some items, including chocolate bars from a department store here, police said today.
She has been suspended.
Her husband, who assaulted two employees of the store for questioning her, has been arrested, police said.
The woman, who was in uniform, after going around the store yesterday for some time came to the billing section with just two items.
An employee monitoring the CCTV cameras noticed the woman hiding some items in her dress and alerted the cashier, who confronted the constable and asked her to take out the concealed goods and pay for them also.

In the video, which has gone viral on social media, the constable is purportedly seen arguing but accepts that she had concealed the items and walks off in a huff.
The footage shows her husband coming to the store with two men and beating up two employees for questioning his wife.
Following a complaint from the store's proprietor, police suspended the woman constable after an inquiry and arrested her husband.
