Top-seed Dev Javia sets up title clash with Arjun Sriram in

: Top-seed Dev Javia rallied from a set down to quell the challenge of Kabir Hans to advance to the final of the Boys singles in the 27th Adidas-MCC National Junior (under-18) clay court tennis championship here on Friday.

The 17-year old Javia defeated third seeded Hans 6-7, 6-2, 6-0 to take his spot in the final against left-hander Arjun Sriram of Karnataka, a 6-3, 6-3 winner against Akilan Indrabalan of Kerala in the other semifinal.

The girls section would witness a title clash between unseeded Reshma Maruri of Karnataka and Rashmika Srivipalli Bhamdipaty (Telangana).

In the semifinals, Reshma outclassed fourth-seeded Kaavya Sawhney 6-2, 6-1 while Rashmika battled past Punjab's Sarah Dev (eighth-seed) 6-3, 7-5.

 

In the boys doubles final, the top-seeded duo of Sushant Dabas and Krishan Hooda of Haryana got the better of Madhwin Kamath of Gujarat and Ajay Malik of Harayana 7-5, 6-4.

The girls doubles title went to the pair of Salsa Aher of Maharashtra and Kaavya Sawhney (UP), who put it across Kashish Bhatia and Bela S Tamhankar 6-2, 6-2 in the final.

Results: Boys singles-Semifinals: Dev V Javia beat Kabir Hans (Odisha) [3] 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-0; Arjun Sriram (Kar) beat Akhilendran Indrabalan (Ker) 6-3 6-3.

Girls singles-semifinals: Rashmikaa Shrivalli Bhamidipaty (TS) beat Sarah Dev (PB) [8] 6-3, 7-5; Reshma Maruri (Kar) beat Kaavya Sawhney [4] 6-2 6-1.

Boys doubles-Final: Sushant Dabas and Krishan Hooda (Har) [1] beat Madhwin Kamath (Gujarat) and Ajay Malik (Har) [2] 7-5, 6-4.

Girls doubles-Final: Salsa Aher and KaavyaSawhney [1] beat Kashish Bhatia (Del) and Bela S Tamhankar (Mah) 6-2, 6-2.
