Tribal woman 'assaulted' in West Bengal

A tribal woman was assaulted by three men of her own community for allegedly having relations with a boy from another caste in Rampurhat area of Birbhum district today.

SDPO, Rampurhat, Koteswar Rao said the woman lodged a complaint with the police about being beaten up by the trio who blamed her for having relations with a boy from another community.

"A woman has lodged a complaint and our officers have been ordered to probe the allegation," Rao said.

The woman did not speak to media.
