Twenty-nine FIRs have been registered against various political parties in Delhi, including three each against the AAP and the BJP, for violating the model code of conduct, Delhi's chief electoral officer said on Wednesday.

Special CEO Satnam Singh said that the poll body has also removed more than 1.8 lakh hoardings, banners and posters since the enforcement of model code of conduct.

Of the three FIRs registered against the AAP, one is related to using auto rickshaw for election campaign, Singh said.

In most of the 29 cases, FIRs were registered against political parties for defacing public property, he said.

Singh said 91 FIRs have been registered and 112 people arrested under the Arms Act since March 12 while police have seized 99 unlicensed weapons from them.

As many as 296 FIRs have been registered and 302 violators arrested under the Excise Act, he added.
