Two arrested with 12 kgs of poppy in Jammu

The police today arrested two persons and recovered 12 kgs of poppy straw from their possession in the outskirts of Jammu, officials said.

Acting on specific information, the police laid a naka at Kunjwani Chowk in the outskirts of Jammu city and intercepted two pedestrians, an officer said.

A search of their belongings led to the recovery of 12 kgs of poppy Straw from their possession, he said adding both the accused were arrested on the spot.

Investigations are on, he said.
