Two quintals of narcotic substance seized, 1 held

The Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police today arrested one person and seized two quintals of 'Chura Post' from his possession, an official said.

Acting on a tip-off, the STF intercepted a truck and recovered the narcotic substance worth Rs 10 lakh, he said.

The accused was identified as Rashid, a resident of Sigar village in Haryana.

During interrogation, Rashid revealed that the narcotic substance was brought from Chittorgarh in Rajasthan and was supposed to be supplied at roadside eateries in Sonipat and Panipat, the official said.

The accused was produced in the court, which sent him to three-day police custody, he added.
