Two persons were today awarded capital punishment by a local court in a 13-year-old murder case.
Sanju (35) and Bhanwar Singh (60) were sentenced to death for beheading Surendra Kumar in November 2003, Assistant district government counsel Prem Chandra Nigam said.
Their accomplice Jawar Singh (50) too was convicted but he had died during the trial.

The trio had beheaded Kumar in the forest of Rajalpur in Kuraoli area and thrown the victim's head into a pond, he said.
Following investigations, police filed a charge sheet against Sanju, Bhanwar and Jawar in the court of Additional District and Session's Judge under various sections of IPC.
After considering the evidence brought on the record and hearing defence and prosecution counsels, the judge convicted Sanju and Bhanwar for the brutal murder of Kumar and sentenced them to death, holding that it was a rarest of the rare case.
