Two TPC ultras carrying reward on their head surrender

Two ultras of Trutiya Prastututi Committee (TPC), both carrying rewards on their head, surrendered with arms before senior police officers in Garwah district on Monday.

The self styled 'zonal commander' of TPC II Mahendra Singh Kherwar alias Laldhari Singh, carrying a reward of Rs five lakh on his head, and 'zonal commander' Ashok Kumar Mehta alias Akshay ji alias Nirbhay ji, carrying reward of Rs two lakh, have surrendered with arms before the DIG Vipul Shukla and Superintendent of Police (Garwah) Shivani Tiwary, officials said.

The DIG said the state government's surrender policy has been effective in brining the naxals back to the mainstream of the society.

 

The SP said the operation connect launched by the district police was producing the desirable result as the ultras were returning to the mainstream of the society.

Forty four cases including 31 in Garwah was pending against Kherwar, a resident of Palamau district, 18 cases have been registered against Mehta, a resident of Aurangabad district of Bihar, police said.

Both the ultras were active in Garwah and Palamau district, they added.
