Undertrial escapes

escorted back to prison after a court hearing gave a slip to the police today and fled from Shikohabad railway station.

Anil Pratap Singh (28), who was lodged in Fatehgarh central jail, was taken to an Auraiya court and was being taken back when he fled from the railway station, police said.

The two policemen who were accompanying him have been taken into custody and legal action was being taken, police said.

Singh was an accused in a case of kidnapping and ransom.
