Uptick in demand lifts cardamom futures by 1%

Amid pick up in demand in spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts, cardamom futures shot up by Rs 10.10, or 1 per cent to Rs 1,021.90 per kg today as participants built up fresh positions.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November month jumped up by Rs 10.10, or 1 per cent to Rs 1,021.90 per kg in business turnover of 29 lots.

The spice for delivery in far-month December traded higher by Rs 8.10, or 0.79 per cent to Rs 1,032.10 per kg with trading volume of 6 lots.

Analysts said traders created fresh positions following a strong in demand at spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions.
