A 30-year-old man was mauled to death by a bear in forest area near Turga village here, police said today.
Manthan Uikey had gone to Keolari forest near the village to collect firewood yesterday.
When he did not return till late night, villagers started looking for him, Keolari police station in-charge Amit Vilas Dani said.
Later, they found his body in the forest with deep injury marks resembling those of a bear attack, he said.
Police later reached the spot and recovered the body. After postmortem and other formalities, the body was handed over to his family members.
