Woman beaten up by youth

An elderly widow was beaten up and injured allegedly by a local Trinamool Congress leader today after she blamed him for killing her duck in a village in Kultali in South 24-Parganas.

The police said locals of Maipith village lodged a complaint that elderly Kajal Bairagi was beaten up by TC leader Sanjay Maity after she blamed him for killing her duck.

The woman hospitalised this moring and her condition is stable now, officials said.
