Woman commits suicide, parents allege foul play

A married woman allegedly committed suicide when she was alone at her home in Nahar Singh Thok Colony in Barsana area of the district, police said today.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening when her family members were away from home.

However, on information the woman's father reached the crematorium and took the half burnt body to police station alleging foul play. He demanded punitive action against the woman's in-laws.

The woman's father and his associates also allegedly assaulted her mother-in-law, who had to be hospitalised, police said.

An FIR has been filed against the woman's husband, police added.
