A 38-year-old woman today suffered burn injuries on her face after her former husband allegedly poured acid on her in Chitoor district of Andhra Pradesh, police said.
The incident occurred near Kalur Cross Roads of Tirupati rural of the district when the accused Khaja Hussain, who had divorced to the victim a few years ago, allegedly poured acid on her face resulting in injuries to her, Tirupati (West Sub-Division) DSP J Srinivasulu told PTI over phone.
"The incident seems to be the fallout of some family dispute," the DSP said, adding that efforts are on nab the accused who is absconding.
Chandragiri police have filed a case and further probe is on.
