Woman killed by lightning in Nagaland

A woman was killed when lightning struck her in Peren district while many houses and standing crops were damaged in thunderstorms which hit the state, officials said Wednesday.

A Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) official thunderstorms and gusty winds accompanied by hailstones lashed Peren, Phek, Dimapur and Wokha districts of Nagaland on Tuesday.

The thunderstorms damaged many houses and one woman was killed by lightning at Ndunglwa village in Peren district, said Home Commissioner, R Ramakrishnan.
