A day after a 25-year-old woman was found dead in her house in Makarpura area here, Vadodara police Saturday claimed to have solved the case.

Kunjal Panchal's body was found in the bedroom of her flat in Anandbag Society here Friday morning with severe injuries on the neck.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Jaydeepsinh Jadeja Saturday said that the case was solved after police recovered the body Friday of 21-year-old Meet Anilbhai Garana who had allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train.

"After Garana's body was recovered near the tracks at the Makapura railway yard, we found a suicide note as well as his Aadhaar card and mobile phones," Jadeja told PTI.

The suicide note mentioned that he had killed Kunjal Panchal and had then proceeded to the railway yard to end his life, the official said.

Garana's note added that he had taken this step as society would not accept his marriage to Kunjal, the SP stated.

Jadeja said that a witness' description of a man seen leaving Kunjal's house, some time after her killing, on a scooter matched that of Garana.

Garana's phone call records also established the connection between him and Kunjal, the official said.
