A 25-year-old woman was Friday found dead in her house in Makarpura locality of Vadodara in Gujarat, police said.
Kunjan Panchal's neck had injury marks caused by a sharp weapon and a gold chain she was wearing was missing, police added.
An official said that Panchal's husband, Pratik, and other family members had gone to a fabrication factory they owned at the time of the incident.
"The attacker seems have entered the house through a back door and killed her using a sharp weapon. A gold chain she was wearing is missing," an official said.
He said that the incident came to light Friday morning after the in charge of a play centre where the deceased's two-year-old son studies failed to get any response after calling her several times on her mobile phone.
"She had not gone to pick her child up from the play centre and so one of the persons there had called on her mobile phone several times. Getting no response, he intimated the deceased's family members who rushed home and found her dead," the official said.
Her father, Nayan Panchal (54) has filed a complaint and further probe into the case was underway, the official added.
