'X-Men: Apocalypse' will have mass destruction: Director

Director Bryan Singer has revealed that the forthcoming 'X-Men: Apocalypse' will have 'mass destruction' in a way the franchise has never seen before.
The director, who returns to the series with this summer's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past', shed light on the storyline for the superhero movie, reported Total Film magazine.
"We're going to deal with the notion of ancient mutants - the fact they were born and existed thousands of years ago," Singer said.

"But it'll be a contemporary movie - well, it'll take place in the '80s... The '80s is a period now - it's hard for me to believe that. 'Apocalypse' will have more of the mass destruction that 'X-Men' films, to date, have not relied upon. There's definitely now a character and a story that allow room for that kind of spectacle," he added.
'X-Men: Apocalypse' will open in cinemas on May 27, 2016. 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' will be released on May 22.
