Yohan, Vruddhi top seeds in NSCI Junior Open

Yohan Darius Pandole of Maharashtra and Vruddhi Doshi of Madhya Pradesh are the top seeds in the boys' and girls' under-19 categories respectively at the Rs 6 lakh prize money NSCI Junior Open Squash to be held here from August 8 to 13.

Aishwary Singh from Maharashtra is seeded second, while Delhi's Junaid Muzaffar Thoker and Raghuvir Reddy, also from Maharashtra, are jointly seeded third and fourth in the boys' under-19 event.

Maharashtra's Aishwarya Bhattacharya is the second seed in the girls' under-19 category while Jui Kalgutkar (Maharashtra) and Amaya Kothari (Delhi) are the joint 3-4 seeds.

Mumbai lad Yohan, ranked number one in the country, has been seeded directly into the second round and will take on the winner of the first round match between Maharashtra's Zain Motiwala and Cholarajan Nagaraj of Tamil Nadu.
 

Vruddhi would begin her campaign in the first round against Rajashtan's Riya Sisodia.

NSCI is organising this tournament for the fifth consecutive year and this time the event has been accorded an SRFI 4-Star ranking and would be governed by the SRFI National Junior Circuit and Ranking Guidelines, said a media release.

Around 400 entries have been received for competitions for boys and girls in the age groups of U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19.
