Youth held for selling pornographic items in Palika Bazar

A youth was arrested for allegedly selling pornographic material in central Delhi's Palika Bazar, police said today.

Acting on a tip off, a special team of Delhi police arrested 26-year-old Ashish Gupta, a shopkeeper for allegedly selling sex toys and other pornographic materials in Palika Bazar in Connaught Place, Deputy Commissioner of Police S B S Tyagi said.

Gupta allegedly sold electronic sex toys, medicines, chewing-gums, cosmetics, sprays, pornographic films and other obscene material from his shop and used to store these articles in his car, he said.

"A trap was laid yesterday and a police official was sent as a decoy customer. Gupta agreed to sell electronic sex toys and pornographic films for Rs 10,000 but after a brief negotiation he agreed to sell items against the payment of Rs 1,050 only," Tyagi said.
 

A case has been registered under section 292 IPC against Gupta.

The team also recovered a car, 21 sex toys, several medicines, cosmetics, sprays, pornographic films, police said adding further investigation is on in the matter.
