Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc prices drifted lower by Rs 2.45 to Rs 168.70 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed positions, tracking a weak trend overseas.

Moreover, muted demand from consuming industries in the spot market fuelled the downtrend.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, zinc for delivery this month contracts fell by Rs 2.45, or 1.43 per cent, to Rs 168.70 per kg, in a business turnover of 492 lots.

Metal for delivery in December too fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 169.35 per kg in 47 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in zinc futures to a weak global trend where base metals retreated sd the stronger dollar deterred investors from buying commodities.
