Karunanidhi Refuses To Step Down

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi yesterday rejected the demands for his resignation following the DMKs poor showing in the polls. The elections were held for the Lok Sabha and not for Tamil Nadu Assembly, he said, adding that it was clear that the people had voted in different manner for the Lok Sabha and in another for the state Assembly. In both the Assembly bye-elections held simultaneously with the LS polls, the people had voted for the DMK, he said.
