| Sunil Bharti Mittal-promoted Bharti Airtel today reported a 79% rise in net profit to Rs 934 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, and said that it had connected 41.1 lakh subscribers in this period, a quarterly record. The biggest mobile services company of the country reported a 61% rise in consolidated total revenue for the quarter to Rs 4,357 crore and a 67% growth in earning before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA ) to Rs 1,702 crore. The cash profit from operations grew 75% to Rs 1,644 crore. Bharti, as on September 30 this year, had over 2.86 crore customers - an increase of 90% in the total customer base over the corresponding period last year.
