VSNL offers software services on demand

VSNL kicked off this initiative by launching the new PC security service in partnership with Trend Micro, a global leader in network antivirus and internet content security software and services.

On a one-month trial basis, this service will allow subscribers to access various online software services for free after which they have to subscribe for the software at an introductory price of Rs 25 or Rs 250 per year. This is 90 per cent lower than any other comparable solution available in the market, according to a press release.

Shashi Kalathll, COO-retail business unit, VSNL said : "In line with the global trend to offer the best possible online experience to customers, we have introduced software services on demand that will allow all Tata Indicom broadband and dial-up subscribers to benefit."

Trend Micro PC-cillin internet security 2005, the latest version of anti-virus product is schedule to roll out this month.

It addresses the privacy, reliability and security needs of PC users and offers powerful features like anti-virus protection, spyware removal, phising, child safe surfing, home network control , wi-fi infusion detection along with improved spam filtering for e-mail in one complete solution.
