With new launches in the food delivery market heating up the competition, Swiggy has introduced a standalone app, Toing, to diversify offerings in the affordable segment.
The app, which is providing food delivery services in Pune, has a sharper focus on curated restaurant selections, streamlined ordering, simplified user journeys, and comparatively lower pricing than the main Swiggy app. For instance, the app assures users that restaurant prices on the platform are similar to offline rates.
The development comes after Rapido launched its food delivery app- Ownly- last month.
According to a person aware of the matter, the new app targets students, Gen Z population, and those who have joined the workforce recently.
“The Pune location is chosen because it is an education hub and is a less explored market as far as food delivery is concerned, while Bangalore is a highly penetrated market,” the person noted. Essentially, the app targets consumers with lower incomes, aiming to provide meals at affordable prices.

An email sent to Swiggy regarding the matter remained unanswered till the time of going to press.
The app lists items starting at less than ₹99 as well as those that can be delivered in under 30 minutes. A few items available on the app include cakes, burgers, pasta, sandwiches, sweets, ice creams, pizzas, biryani, dosa, kebabs, parathas, noodles, and pastries. Similar to this, the Swiggy app also has a ₹99 store, which showcases meals that are worth ₹99 or less.
An example of identical orders placed from the same outlet in Pune using both Toing and Swiggy’s main app shows the difference in prices. For an item valued at ₹189, the final payable amount on Toing was ₹210 (₹189 item value + ₹9.45 restaurant GST + ₹12 platform fee). On Swiggy, the same order costs ₹238 (₹189 item value + ₹23 restaurant packaging + ₹10.6 restaurant GST + ₹14.99 platform fee). Both platforms offer free delivery on orders above ₹99.
However, for an order worth ₹89 (under ₹99), Toing’s final cart value stood at ₹124 (₹89 item value + ₹19 delivery fee + ₹4.45 restaurant GST + ₹12 platform fee). On Swiggy, the total came to ₹193 (₹89 item value + ₹35 delivery fee + ₹23 restaurant packaging + ₹5.6 restaurant GST + ₹14.99 platform fee + ₹25 rain fee).
Overall, Toing did not levy a restaurant packaging fee, while Swiggy did. Toing’s platform fee was lower at ₹12, compared to ₹14.99 on the main app, and the GST charged by restaurants on Swiggy was higher. Notably, in the second order (below ₹99), Swiggy added a ₹25 rain fee, whereas Toing did not impose any such charge for the same order.
Swiggy has another standalone app called Snacc, which also offers food delivery. However, while Snacc uses a micro-kitchen model and includes private labelling, Toing partners with restaurants and offers meals priced between ₹99 and ₹149, the person said.
According to the data available on the Play Store, the Toing app has more than 500 downloads. The app is live on the Play Store and Apple Store.
Notably, as a segment, the food delivery growth has largely remained sluggish. However, for the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26 (Q1FY26), Swiggy's gross order value rose to ₹8,086 crore from ₹7,347 crore in the last quarter (Q4FY25). It was a little higher earlier in Q3FY25 at ₹7,436 crore.
