Leakage forces Chambal Fertilisers to shut down urea plant
The incident occurred at the company's Kota plant, where a leakage occurred in ammonia synthesis gas converter

A leakage in ammonia synthesis gas converter has disrupted production at Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals’ Kota plant in Rajasthan. In a BSE filing, Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals, one of the largest private sector fertiliser producers in India, said that one of the company's urea plants at Gadepan, District Kota, Rajasthan has shut down on August 23, 2014 due to leakage in ammonia synthesis gas converter. The company said that it is likely to take two weeks before the plant resume production.
