Albemarle completes sale of ibuprofen and other businesses to SI Group

Albemarle Corporation has successfully completed the previously announced sale of its antioxidant, ibuprofen and propofol businesses and related assets to SI Group Inc. In April this year, Albemarle had entered into an agreement to sell these businesses to SI Group, one of the leading global manufacturers of chemical intermediates, specialty resins, and solutions, for an undisclosed amount.
 
The transaction includes manufacturing sites in Orangeburg, South Carolina and Jinshan, China. Certain applications and technical support capabilities located in Shanghai, China and Baton Rouge, Louisiana were also included in the transaction.
