India ended Day 4 of the Delhi Test firmly in control, needing just 58 more runs to secure victory with nine wickets in hand. While it’s rare for a Test match in Indian conditions to stretch this far, credit goes to the West Indies duo of John Campbell and Shai Hope, who showed remarkable grit and determination to keep the contest alive.

Resuming their solid overnight partnership, Campbell reached his maiden Test century, while Hope brought up his first hundred in the format since 2017. The pair blunted India’s attack throughout the first session, frustrating the hosts with their discipline. However, Ravindra Jadeja finally broke the stand by trapping Campbell LBW. Soon after, Mohammed Siraj struck with the second new ball, dismissing Hope and opening the floodgates.

Kuldeep Yadav then dismantled the West Indies lower middle order with his guile, while Jasprit Bumrah wrapped up the innings by cleaning up the tail, although not before a gritty last-wicket stand between Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves added some late resistance.

Chasing a modest target of 121, India got off to a brisk start, with Yashasvi Jaiswal looking aggressive early on. However, he departed in the second over, falling to Jomel Warrican. From that point, KL Rahul and debutant Sai Sudharsan batted with maturity and composure, guiding India safely to stumps without further damage.

Heading into the final day, India stand on the brink of victory. With a minimal target left and plenty of batting to come, a straightforward finish is expected on Day 5.

India vs West Indies LIVE SCORE UPDATES 2nd Test Day 4: IND 47/1 after 15 overs!

India cautiously moved to 47/1 after 15 overs, with KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan continuing their steady stand. The West Indies spinners, Jomel Warrican and Khary Pierre, kept a tight leash, conceding little and extracting grip from the surface. Rahul remained patient, rotating strike and occasionally cutting or driving when offered width. Sudharsan showed composure, mixing defence with singles while picking the gaps well. Warrican was economical and probing, while Pierre bowled with control. The scoring rate remained modest, but India avoided further damage, focusing on building a platform. The partnership has grown, but acceleration is needed to shift pressure back.

India reached 34/1 after 10 overs, cautiously rebuilding after the early dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal. KL Rahul and debutant Sai Sudharsan steadied the innings with a measured approach against disciplined spin bowling. Sudharsan looked promising, striking two elegant boundaries — a flick and a cover drive — showing good footwork and patience. Rahul remained watchful, content to rotate strike and defend solidly. West Indies introduced spin from both ends by the 7th over, with Jomel Warrican and Khary Pierre keeping the batters in check. Warrican remained the standout, picking up Jaiswal and conceding just 8 runs in his first five overs.

India vs West Indies LIVE SCORE UPDATES 2nd Test Day 4: IND 17/1 after 5 overs!

India have made a cautious start to their innings, reaching 17/1 after 5 overs in response to West Indies' total. The early blow came in the 2nd over when Jomel Warrican removed Yashasvi Jaiswal for 8. The left-hander, looking to take on the spinner, danced down the track but mistimed his shot, gifting a catch to Anderson Phillip at long-on.

KL Rahul, after taking a painful blow to the body from Jayden Seales, has settled in with a boundary and a few singles. Sai Sudharsan, on debut, has looked watchful at the crease, carefully negotiating the spin threat of Warrican.

West Indies’ bowlers—particularly Seales and Warrican—have bowled tight lines, not allowing India to break free. The pitch is offering some turn early on, and the ball has started to grip.

Between overs 110 and 115, West Indies' last-wicket pair put up a gritty stand, taking the total to 376/9. Justin Greaves looked more confident—he and Jayden Seales ran hard between the wickets and punished wayward deliveries. Greaves struck a boundary and picked up singles into extra cover and midwicket. Seales also contributed with well‑timed drives and singles, despite being tested by spin.

Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav persisted with probing spells, trying to force a mistake. Jadeja nearly had a breakthrough when a catch behind was dropped off Seales’ glove. The Indian attack’s pressure was constant, but the final wicket remained elusive. At the close of the over 115, the partners had bridged the gap—and the match is finely poised with West Indies pushing their lead thanks to that composed tail resistance.
