Housing sales rose 19 per cent to 1,12,458 units during April-June across the top nine cities despite global economic uncertainties, according to PropEquity.
Sales stood at 94,864 units in the year-ago period across the nine cities -- Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and Kolkata.
New supply of residential properties rose 43 per cent annually to 1,17,609 units during the April-June period.
PropEquity founder and CEO Samir Jasuja said, "The Indian housing market has remained resilient despite the geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East. Southern markets continue to lead growth, while Mumbai and Navi Mumbai have also seen strong demand. Although some regions such as Thane and Delhi-NCR have witnessed relatively softer activity, overall market sentiment remains positive".
According to the data, the housing sales in Bengaluru rose to 21,516 units in April-June from 14,676 units in the year-ago period.

The government has expanded the ambit of the QR code-based track-and-trace mechanism to cover all antimicrobials, vaccines, anti-cancer medicines, and narcotic and psychotropic drugs, a move aimed at strengthening safeguards against counterfeit and substandard medicines.
The Union Health Ministry has notified amendments to the Drugs Rules, 1945, bringing these categories of medicines under Schedule H2, which mandates the use of bar codes or Quick Response (QR) codes for product identification and verification.
Under the amended provisions, manufacturers will be required to print or affix a barcode or QR code on the primary packaging label of the drug formulation, or on the secondary packaging where space constraints exist, the ministry said.
The code will enable authentication and verification of medicines through software applications across the supply chain.

Gross leasing of office spaces fell 2 per cent to 17.4 million sq ft during April-June across seven major cities on lower fresh supply, according to Colliers India.
The gross leasing stood at 17.8 million sq ft in the year-ago period. Leasing of office spaces rose in Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR and Hyderabad, but fell in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Kolkata.
As per the data, the gross leasing rose 8 per cent in Bengaluru to 5.2 million sq ft during April-June from 4.8 million sq ft in the year-ago period. In Delhi-NCR, the office leasing increased 23 per cent to 2.7 million sq ft from 2.2 million sq ft.
The leasing in Hyderabad rose 19 per cent to 3.8 million sq ft from 3.2 million sq ft.  However, the gross leasing in Mumbai fell 29 per cent to 2 million sq ft from 2.8 million sq ft.

Terming fuel price hikes and increase in cost of commodities as "cyclical headwinds", he said those will lead to some changes in the quarterly and annual demand but in the long term "India growth story will lead to increase in road freight, and therefore the commercial vehicle demand".
"We do have short-term headwinds. The Middle East crisis, the resultant increase in oil prices, and the final resultant but reduced intensity increase in diesel prices -- it is a headwind," Wagh told reporters in an interaction. Noting that commodity cost increase is also a headwind, he said adding "but we believe that these are more cyclical headwinds".

The Reserve Bank on Wednesday said in case of complaints of fraudulent electronic banking transactions via a credit card, a bank should provide shadow reversal or provisional credit of the disputed amount within 5 days from the date of customer notification.
The RBI has issued revised framework on limiting customer liability in digital transactions.
A bank should design its systems and procedures to make customers feel safe about carrying out electronic banking transaction (EBT) and it should put in place appropriate systems and procedures to ensure safety and security of EBTs carried out by customers, the amended norms said.
"A bank shall mandatorily send instant SMS alerts to its customers for all EBTs of value more than Rs 500. For EBTs of value up to Rs 500, a bank may decide to send instant SMS as per its internal policy but without any charge to the customer," the RBI said.
These norms will come into effect from January 1, 2027.
