Budget 2019: 100% FDI will be permitted for insurance intermediaries, says FM

New Delhi, July 05 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for 2019-2020 in the national capital today. While addressing at the Lok Sabha, Nirmala Sitharaman said, "Government will invite suggestions for further opening up of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in aviation sector and media. Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) and insurance sectors will be in consultation with all stakeholders. 100% FDI will be permitted for insurance intermediaries." "Annual Global Investors Meet to be organised in India, using National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) as the anchor to get key sets of global players to come and invest in India," she added.
