District Council Elections: Congress emerges as largest party in Khasi with 10 Seats, loses in Jaintia

Shillong (Meghalaya), Mar 02 (ANI): Congress emerged as the single largest party and has won the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) by securing 10 seats in the recently held district council elections today. While they have lost the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) seat. Counting of votes was done by the Meghalaya State Election Commission (SEC). In view of the electoral process, the administration had clamped down on the sale and distribution of liquor from February 27 to March 2.
