Security tightened ahead of final NRC: Assam DGP

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 30 (ANI): Ahead of final National Register of Citizens (NRC), security measures have been tightened across Assam.Director General of Police, Kuladhar Saikia said, "Police has taken all sorts of steps like activating the control room, linking up state police headquarter and NRC headquarter, night patrolling have been organise in lot of interior places so that people do get confidence in terms of security." The final NRC list, which will identify the 'bonafide citizens' of the state, is scheduled to be declared on August 31.
