Moradabad, July 12 (ANI): Hundreds of students took part in a painting competition held in Uttar Pradesh to celebrate the 18th birth anniversary of child rights activist Malala Yousafzai. Students from different schools participated in the competition held at Swaroopi Devi Memorial Inter College in Moradabad. Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai, the youngest winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, has turned 18 on Sunday (July 12). Best known by her first name, Malala became a global symbol of defiance after she was shot on a school bus in 2012 by the Taliban for advocating girls' rights. The participating students urged people to develop an open mindset and allow education to girls. Malala, who now lives in Britain, was last year awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her education campaigning, jointly with Indian children's rights activist Kailash Satyarthi.
