Tea gardens resume work with 25% labour amid lockdown extension in Siliguri

Siliguri (WB), May 04(ANI): Amid lockdown extension and certain relaxations given by the government, Siliguri tea gardens observed movement as labourers got back to work. Following government's rule of keeping 25% labour, tea garden owners are using labours in rotation. Daily wage workers who work in the tea garden said, "We are daily wage workers, right now, we are getting work for 2 days in a week, it has become difficult to run our families." He further added that the loss which we have suffered in this year is equal to 10 years.
