Yum! Restaurants (India), which owns QSR brands such as Pizza Hut and KFC in the Indian market, was back in the black in FY24, reporting a profit of Rs 162.04 crore while its revenue from operations was up 6.6 per cent to Rs 689.93 crore, the company said in an RoC filing.
The total income of Yum! Restaurants (India) was up 13.4 per cent to Rs 832.05 crore for the financial year ended on March 31, 2024, helped by other income -- mainly gains from the sale of its investments in Devyani International Ltd.
Yum! Restaurants (India) posted other income of Rs 142.11 crore for FY24 as against Rs 86.46 crore a year earlier, according to financial data accessed through business intelligence platform Tofler.
It had reported a loss of Rs 108.17 crore a year earlier in FY23 and its revenue from operations was at Rs 647.34 crore.
Yum! Restaurants (India) Pvt Ltd is the holding company of Pizza Hut India Marketing and KFC India Marketing.
Its "advertising promotional expenses" were at Rs 220.69

Adani Group's solar power contract, which is at the centre of bribery allegations, has tariffs that are lower than competition and can find new buyers in case the pact is cancelled, according to analysts.
US authorities have charged Adani Group Founder-Chairman Gautam Adani and others for being part of a scheme to offer USD 265 million bribe to Indian officials to gain a contract to supply 8 gigawatt of electricity generated from solar energy by Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL). The group has denied all charges.
"If Adani promoters are found guilty, we believe the size of potential penalty is manageable given it is up to three times the value of the bribe," Nomura said in a report.
The brokerage said there are about 1.8 GW solar projects commissioned in Gujarat from February-March 2024, with tariff of Rs 2.42 per unit under the 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs).
These operational projects are running under 5 special purpose vehicles, namely Adani Green Energy Twenty Four A Ltd

The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) has set up 235 pagoda tents to provide shelter to homeless individuals during cold winter nights, according to officials.
According to the Delhi government's winter action plan 2024-25 launched on November 15, a total of 250 tents are to be set up. The remaining 15 tents have been reserved for an emergency.
"Each tent is equipped with essential amenities such as mattresses, blankets, toilet facilities, and health checkup services, along with three meals a day," an official said
"Security measures have also been taken, with three guards assigned for each tent working eight-hour shifts," he said.
For individuals staying in permanent shelter buildings, additional facilities such as geysers for hot water are being provided to ensure a more comfortable stay during the cold months, he added.

Seizures of the narcotic drug Methamphetamine have increased in the northeastern states of Assam and Mizoram in the current year, with the DRI confiscating 123 kg of the contraband during April-September.
Methamphetamine, also known as 'ice' or 'crystal meth', has become a significant challenge for law enforcement agencies in India, particularly through the porous northeastern borders.
According to a report by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), the smuggling trend indicates that Methamphetamine is being illegally brought into India through sea routes in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
For smuggling, the drug is brought to coastal hamlets like Rameswaram, Tuticorin and Nagapattinam, concealed within specially designed compartments in buses, trains, or cars. From these locations, it is smuggled across the maritime border to Sri Lanka through mid-sea transfers involving Indian fishing boats.
