Maruti Suzuki's total sales increase 26% to 165,173 units in August

Automaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Thursday reported a 26.37 per cent increase in total sales at 1,65,173 units in August 2022. The company had sold a total of 1,30,699 units in the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) said in a statement. Total domestic passenger vehicle sales were at 1,34,166 units as compared to 1,03,187 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 30 per cent, it added. Sales of mini segment cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, grew to 22,162 units as against 20,461 units in August 2021. Sales of compact cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S and WagonR, rose by 57 per cent to 71,557 units as compared to 45,577 units in the year-ago month. Utility vehicles, consisting of Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross and XL6, clocked sales of 26,932 units last month as compared to 24,337 units earlier. Skoda Auto India says wholesales rose 10% to 4,222 units in August

Skoda Auto India on Thursday said its wholesales increased 10 per cent to 4,222 units in August as compared with the same period last year. The company had dispatched 3,829 units in August 2021. The Czech carmaker said it has crossed 37,568 total sales mark for 2022 with more than a quarter yet to go. This makes 2022 the biggest ever in terms of sales for the company in India, Skoda Auto said in a statement. The previous best by the company was 34,678 units sold in 2012, it added. "This is a landmark moment for Skoda Auto in India, and in the world. The credit to this achievement goes to our teams, our partners, and most importantly to our customers," Skoda Auto India Brand Director Zac Hollis stated.

Bajaj Auto's total vehicle sales rise 8% to 401,595 units in August

Bajaj Auto total vehicle sales grew 8 per cent on an annual basis to 4,01,595 units in August, the company said on Thursday. The Pune-based automaker had sold a total of 3,73,270 vehicles in August 2021. Total domestic sales rose 49 per cent to 2,56,755 units in the month under review, from 1,72,595 units in August 2021. The two-wheeler exports volume fell 28 per cent to 1,44,840 units in August this year, from 2,00,675 units in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement. Two-wheeler total sales, including exports, grew 5 per cent to 3,55,625 vehicles in August 2022, as against 3,38,310 units dispatched in the same month year earlier. Two-wheeler domestic sales, according to the company, rose 48 per cent to 2,33,838 units in August this year, as compared to 1,57,971 units in the year-ago period.
