SIDBI ties up with Bihar government to promote MSME sector in state

The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has tied up with the Government of Bihar to promote the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector in the state. To this effect, two memoranda of understanding (MoU) have been signed between SIDBI and the industries department, Government of Bihar, and the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) to develop the MSME ecosystem in the state. Under the first MoU with Bihar's industry department, project management units (PMUs) will be deployed by SIDBI with the state government, SIDBI said in a statement on Wednesday. The PMU will support the state government in making necessary interventions for focused engagement of SIDBI with Bihar, with the objective of facilitating development of the MSME ecosystem. Vaccine is a protective shield against Coronavirus and the Bihar government is working on a mission mode to expedite inoculation drive in the state, Governor Fagu Chauhan said on Wednesday. Addressing a Republic Day function, the governor said tests for detecting COVID-19 and vaccinations are being done on a large scale in the state. Over 37 lakh adolescents in the age group of 15-18 have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine since January 3. Bihar cabinet approves modernisation of 149 ITIs in collaboration with Tata

The Bihar cabinet on Tuesday approved a project worth over Rs 4,606 crore for modernisation and urgradation of 149 state-owned Industrial Training Institutes to centres of excellence. The project will be executed in collaboration with Tata Technologies, Cabinet Secretariat Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar said. "The state government will soon sign a Memorandum of Association (MoA) with Tata Technologies in this regard. The company will spend 88 per cent of the cost and the rest 12 per cent will be borne by the state government to modernise the ITIs to impart advanced training to youths," the official said. Tata Technologies has "agreed to upgrade all 149 government-owned ITIs across the state", he said. Sixty of them have their buildings and other necessary infrastructure and these will be modernised in the first phase by March 2022.
