In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 9.9 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana 9 degrees Celsius and Patiala 9.5 degrees Celsius. Pathankot recorded a low of 8.8 degrees Celsius and Faridkot 8.6 degrees Celsius. In Haryana, the mercury settled at a low of 9.8 degrees Celsius in Ambala and at 8.2 degrees Celsius in Hisar. Karnal recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius, Rohtak 9.6 degrees Celsius and Sirsa 9.8 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius.

Several injured in pile-up on Yamuna Expressway in Gr Noida amid dense fog

Several commuters were injured in a pile-up on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida on Wednesday morning amid reduced visibility due to fog, police officials said. According to the officials, the incident took place around 8 am on the Agra to Noida lane of the expressway in Dayanatpur area under the Jewar police station limits. "No person suffered fatal injury in the incident while the number of those injured was yet to be ascertained," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Ashok Kumar said. The officer said most of the damaged vehicles have been removed from the expressway and normal traffic movement resumed on the stretch. A video of the pile-up that surfaced on social media showed multiple damaged vehicles, including private and commercial ones, on the expressway. Two flights were diverted and nearly 30 flights delayed at the Delhi airport on Tuesday morning due to dense fog. One flight each of IndiGo and SpiceJet were diverted to Jaipur, an official said. As per information available on the Delhi airport website, around 30 flights have been delayed in the morning. In a post on X, DIAL gave a fog alert at around 0730 hrs saying that while landing and takeoffs continue at the Delhi airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. CAT III pertains to operating flights when the visibility is quite low. "Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) said in the post.
