Logistics and courier services operator DTDC Express is expecting its e-commerce segment to account for around 50 per cent of its overall business as the company bets big on the rapid commerce amid customers looking for quicker deliveries of their orders. The company which officially launched its rapid commerce vertical Raftaar earlier this month to offer deliveries as fast as 4-6 hours time, also plans to set up 125 dark stores in the next three quarters to cater to the customers' expectations, DTDC Express CEO Abhishek Chakraborty told PTI. Express logistics company DTDC on Wednesday said it has entered the Malaysian market through its subsidiary, DTDC Global Express PTE Ltd, with the inauguration of an office in Kuala Lumpur. This newly established office, which further strengthens the company's global footprint, including in Southeast Asia, will offer enhanced trans-shipment solutions to its clients in Southeast Asia and the Australian peninsula, DTDC said in a statement. DTDC is already present in Singapore and Australia. As part of its global expansion plans, the company collaborated with Aramex last year to enhance its capabilities in cross-border logistics. Vaishno Devi devotees will now get a "speedy delivery" of prasad boxes to their homes through the DTDC courier service, officials here said on Wednesday. Acting on a suggestion by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has partnered with courier service DTDC Express Limited to expedite the delivery of prasad boxes, they added.
