Trespassing fox henpecked to death on a French farm

Chickens in a poultry farm in northeast France are suspected of killing a fox who tried to sneak into their coop. The young predator is thought to have entered the henhouse at an agricultural school at dusk last week and become trapped inside by light-controlled automatic hatch doors that close when the sun goes down. Students at Le Gros Chene school in Brittany discovered the body of the animal when making their rounds to check on the chickens the following morning. "There, in the corner, we found this dead fox," Pascal Daniel, head of farming at the school, told the AFP. "There was a herd instinct and they attacked him with their beaks." The free-range, organic farm where the incident took place has a chicken coop that is open all day, and the hens spend most of the daytime outside unless they're laying eggs. The last time a fox visited one of the school's chicken coops, more than a year ago, it turned out much worse for the hens, said Daniel.

Stressing that the JNU should have followed the laid down procedure, the court said that the matter should have been first placed before the grievance redressal committee which would have heard the students' side and taken a decision but instead the decision was taken by the Dean of Students. UN pays Yemen teacher wages as millions out of school

The United Nations children's fund is paying some 100,000 teachers in Yemen, the UN said Sunday, as two million children go without education in the war-torn country. UNICEF has disbursed the equivalent of USD 50 per month to more than 97,000 eligible teachers and school staff, and aims to increase that figure to 136,000. The UN estimates that out of seven million school-age children in Yemen over two million are not being educated as infrastructure has been destroyed or repurposed to house those displaced by the four-year conflict. Salaries for teachers were suspended in 2016 as the war between the country's rebels and a government backed by a Saudi-led alliance brought the economy to a halt. Schools in some areas have since reopened. "The situation of Yemen's education sector is daunting," said Geert Cappelaere, UNICEF's regional director for the Middle East and North Africa. "Without a regular salary and due to the conflict and the ongoing economic crisis, teachers have been unable
