Nicole Kidman's Blossom Films lock deal with Amazon Studios
Hollywood star Nicole Kidman's production company Blossom Films has signed a first-look deal with Amazon Studios. According to Variety, Kidman will develop theatrical and series content for the digital company. "I'm excited to start working with Jen Salke and the Amazon team. Our goal at Blossom Films is to create important and entertaining content across multiple platforms, and I can't think of better collaborators with which to accomplish this," Kidman said. "Nicole is a force of nature as both an actress and a producer. She understands the focus of bringing addictive, entertaining and compelling television to our Prime Video customers as well as movies that will connect with film audiences. 'Captain Marvel' to be scored by female composer
In a major breakthrough, Pinar Toprak has been signed to score "Captain Marvel". The composer will be the first woman to score a Marvel Studios film. The film, which stars Brie Larson as the powerful Captain Marvel, is Marvel Studios' first female-fronted film. In a post on Instagram , Toprak said, "It's an incredible honour to be a part of the Marvel Universe. I have so many people to thank for helping me on this journey but first and foremost, my incredible agents Laura Engel and Richard Kraft for believing in me from day one." She also thanked directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck "for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime" and Marvel music supervisor Dave Jordan. Toprak has previously worked on Syfy's Superman prequel "Krypton" as well as the videogame "Fortnite". "Captain Marvel" is set to open March 8, 2019.

"The Hobbit" actor Richard Armitage has revealed he was on the shortlist to play Batman before Ben Affleck landed the part. The 46-year-old actor told Digital Spy that he tested for the part of Batman and made it to the final "five or six" with Affleck eventually playing the Dark Knight in DC's latest films. "There was a little flurry once upon a time just after I'd come out of The Hobbit where I auditioned for Batman.
